I have seen them since high school, in the hallways, street, plaza---wherever.! They’re like almost everywhere---and yeah.! I’m talking about emo---emo kids to be exact since there’s a lot of its kind.
note: if you’re one of them or felt like them, I’m sorry if this kinda offensive---but pls read it first if you like =)
Emo, if you search in the internet is defined as a type of subculture (rather distinctly from the 21st Century) loosely rooted around punk rock with its own distinct style of music, fashion, argot and other trappings in a desperate, though ultimately hopeless attempt to pronounce their uniqueness. As a rule of thumb, a person described as "emo" (falling under certain behavior mannerisms and attire correlating with the subculture) will often be from a comfortable, middle-class background with understanding, pleasant parents. Also, they consider themselves to be much more in touch with their emotions than anyone else; whereas they really just feel sorry for themselves. Most emo's will claim to be depressed, or simply misunderstood.
They all suffer from severe narcissism, leading them to believe that they alone know what pain is, and that no one understands them-----and not to mention taking pictures with their selves and spread it out in the internet. They all believe that their personal affliction could not be worse, that their life in their quiet suburban house with their own television and computer in their room is not just the worst life they could have, but the worst life anyone has had, ever.
However, some said that "Emo" is not short for "Emotional." "Emo" does not mean Taking Back Sunday and Dashboard Confessional, despite what MTV has lead you to believe in the last few years. "Emo" is not sidebangs, tight pants, and male vocalists who sing like little girls about their failed relationships. "Emo" is not the use of diluted, meaningless metaphors and similes such as "My arms are like pinecones," and most definitely is not the rampant use of words such as "autumn," "heart," "knife," "bleeding," "leaves," and "razorblade."---------but well, as you could see they act like one.!
Cutters. Yes, emo are usually labeled as cutters, they’re cutting their wrists, some psychologist says that this is one of their ways to escape from the psychological and emotional pain they’re been experiencing within that moment but they don't usually intend to hurt themselves permanently when they cut, just temporarily, so they can garner some much-needed attention. Many of them don't usually mean to keep cutting once they start, either. Some are even used to drown their selves in a tub or pool------for a moment, since they are afraid to die.
Imagine, doing that for just a failed relationship or family problem-----that could be a total cracked.! They’re not that too “man” enough to stand.
Relating to what I have learned in our Sunday morning service in our church-----people like them are total slaves-----slave from what? emotion? society? music industry? could be. But majorly, from sin. There’s a lot of reason why but I’m not going to jazzify or elaborate it, not now.
---So, umh seriously----
Too bad, I’ve known a lot of people who are pretending to be emo-----doing the bangs, pierced to make their body more appealing, the get-up and etc. even cutting their wrist for the sake of scars and marks, but most of them don’t really know what they’re up to, because it’s “in” in today’s trend and it’s cute/cool? Maybe. But whatever might be the reason, for sure-----music industry including the artists has something to do with it.
So, how does the music industry affects people’s lives? Actually, it depends on how the listeners apply the message or meaning within their selves---and so that’s how it affects their beliefs and attitudes or behaviors.
Even so, emo music is highly emotional and very straightforward in the expression of the emotion. In addition, emo music could be as potent and raging as something like what we hear from suicidal tendencies.
Emo music isn’t new. It came about in the mid of 80s and more popular in the 90s. In my concern, it is still dominating today, and created new and even younger audience-----who is unfortunately still in the stage of growing and still confuse. Now, if this still growing and even influence more and more larger society-----then I would fear to know what would happen to my generation or the next generation.
So, is this how the Agenda of the Elite wealthy people calling their selves “illuminati” works? Since, they are really the head behind the music industry, and their goal is to create a slave society!
Another puzzle solved-----isn’t it? (if you read my previous post entitled Illuminati. What's behind it?, L.A. Baby (Where Dreams Are Made Of), The Britney break free..., & lindsay: a mind-control victim?
for sure you could relate into this.! ^_^
